RMJM Art Commissioning, on behalf of Clyde Gateway, are delighted to offer a new permanent public art opportunity for an emerging or established artist.
Clyde Gateway is an innovative Urban Regeneration Company (URC), established to drive a massive investment programme that covers a large part of the East End of Glasgow and parts of South Lanarkshire, Scotland.
We are looking for an artist who will be challenged by creating new work for a highly visible Gable End site on Victoria Street, Rutherglen. This site has been identified to animate and help "identify" the area through the creation of a new permanent work that will create visual impact. A requriement to complete the work by end November 2009 is reflected by the current streetscape improvement works. The artist must therefore be able to fully commit to this commission throughout the entirety of the commissiong period (August-November 2009)
Up to three artists will be short-listed to develop costed design proposals (a full brief and site visit will be arranged for the short-listed artists).
This is a £35,000 commission (inclusive of artist fee, materials, installation etc).
