"Over the last few months I have developed a permanent commission for the entrance hall of Park House, a new residential building by RMJM architects for Noah Developments, situated next to Park Circus in Glasgow. The work traces back the histories of the site by taking evidence from different periods of time. Over the last 150 years, the site has been home to a church then demolished apart from the white tower which has remained a landmark to this day. In the late 1960s, it became a bank typifying the concrete architecture of the period.
An eclectic body of evidence which compresses history (past and present) has been developed through a focus on ephemeral elements such as the construction of the various buildings and the retracing of artifacts which once were housed on this site at various stages in time.
Many of the artifacts were found in new locations throughout Glasgow and were discovered after a great deal of research in public archives. These ranged from architectural plans from the early 20th century to stained glass some of which were made by the pre-raphaelite painter, Edward Burne-Jones".
